Blood Alcohol Calculator (Germany)
Our blood alcohol calculator estimates your blood alcohol concentration in per mille (‰) – the unit used in Germany – after beer, wine or spirits, and shows when the alcohol should be gone. It is a rough guide only, never a reason to drive.

Frequently asked questions
How is the value calculated?
With the Widmark formula: grams of alcohol ÷ (body weight × distribution factor of about 0.7 for men and 0.6 for women), minus 10 % absorption deficit and about 0.15 ‰ breakdown per hour.
Does coffee help to sober up?
No. Coffee, sleep or exercise do not speed up how fast your body breaks down alcohol.
